The Bloscar Awards nomination by @katielaurenblog

Guys, I have a confession to make:
The whole “Bloscar” award pun on the real life Oscars went over my head since Katie from katielaurenblogs gave me the award, which was two and a half weeks ago. When I realised I felt so dumb it was unbelievable!
I’m actually very slow when it comes to most humour haha!
Speaking of Katie, a personal thanks to her for nominating me for the Bloscar Award. She’s a lifestyle and travel blogger and I’ve enjoyed interacting with her on our blogging and travel experiences and getting to know her a bit better.

I’ve got a collab with her coming soon so stay tuned for that!
As with most blogger awards there’s a list of questions about me personally or my blog that need to be answered by the nominee and they also have to nominate other bloggers for the particular award.
So without further ado, here are the questions and answers:

When did you start blogging?

I started as soon as I started to engage with my wanderlust which was in October 2017. Before that I had been a Formula 1 writer for a Motorsport website so blogging at the time was something not entirely new to me.

Why did you start blogging?

I graduated from Uni last summer (proud of thst 2:1) and I had my heart set on travelling and working part-time as a little break from education and adult life. With my travelling I wanted it to be meaningful and ironically educational for not just myself but for my friends and family and not just gloat with pics on Instagram and Snapchat. I’ve always had a passion for creative writing so I thought why not start a blog and document my travel experiences on my blog.

What is your blog about?

My blog centres heavily on travelling and sharing my personal experiences with my readers, making them understand better different cultures and heritages of many countries as well as give travel tips and tricks that I’ve learnt.
For my experience in I basically rate out of 10 the country’s food, attractions, transport system and the accommodation I stayed and based on the average rating from the 4 areas of discussuon I give my trip an overall rating out of 10.
Some of my posts crossover into lifestyle, which is a blogging niche I’m looking to expand into more regularly sometime in the future.

What’s your favourite quotation?

“Dont dream of success, prepare for success” by the GOAT of basketball Michael Jordan (sorry LeBron fans :p).

Are you the type of person that meticulously researches a holiday trip or do you just go with the flow?

Definitely the first option. I’m the kind of person who needs to know what exactly they are doing, when it’s been done. I can’t imagine turning up at a destination for a holiday and my mind being blank in terms of what’s going to happen; I’d get too much anxiety.

What’s your favourite holiday destination?

That would have to be Canada. Me and my mum are trying to sort out plans to go back there for this summer as a relative of mine is getting married. At the moment I see it as more than just a holiday destination, I see it as a country I can live in in the future. But to be honest that’s highly likely to change as to me a “holiday” destination is somewhere notorious for a lot of warmth, sun and scenery that’s out of nowhere and I’m staying there for three nights or longer!

What are your hobbies?

My main hobbies at the moment are going to the gym and exercising and creative writing, which includes writing poems and obviously blogging. I enjoy reading the bible, autobiographies and comics (I need to get back into reading some physical hardbacks), watching TV and the occasional kick about with a Football with kids or game of pool.

What’s your favourite colour and why?

Definitely blue. The meaning of the colour they say is truth, intelligence, loyalty and belief and that I feel reflects my personality so it may explain why I’ve subconsciously gravitated towards it. Plus navy and light blue are popular versatile colours in modern fashion so that helps 😉

What’s your favourite type of music?

I like a wide range of music genres. With music it’s the beat and rhythm that makes me connect with a song. My favourite ones are hip hop, RnB, grime, dance and american rap. House
